Aotearoa Experience presents: HAKA Come experience the unique intangible Māori cultural heritage of the Waikato-Tainui people whilst visiting our iconic regional attractions the Hamilton Gardens, Te Parapara and the Waikato River! Meet local Māori artists, learn a haka or poi dance, paddle a large waka (traditional canoe) on the mighty Waikato River, weave a flax item for a loved one, watch traditional weaponry displays, purchase authentic Māori art and craft at market rates, view an exhibition, be entertained by local traditional cultural groups, enjoy a steaming hot hāngi meal or undertake guided tours to learn about traditional Māori horticultural practices and medicinal plants.
